A New Veteran is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by a U.S. Army Combat Veteran that walks alongside veterans, helping them understand and access the benefits they have earned through honest conversation and personalized strategy.
A New Veteran was founded in 2022 by Andrew Davenport after he experienced firsthand how overwhelming and isolating the VA system can be. Like many veterans, he returned from service confused and unsure where to turn, realizing the system was built to process people, not listen to them.
Andrew saw that too many veterans downplay their service and avoid asking for help because of stigma and silence. That silence keeps people stuck. With more than 20 years of experience building relationships across communities, he now works directly with veterans to help them uncover their worth, tell their stories with confidence, and take back control of their future.
A New Veteran is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Every conversation is grounded in dignity and honesty. The approach is simple: strategy that fits the individual, partnership over power dynamics, and community over compliance. We do with you, not for you.

Andrew Davenport, founder of A New Veteran, working alongside veterans in their communities.
Every veteran who comes to us is met with respect and treated as a whole person, not a case number.
We tell veterans the truth about their situation, even when that truth is hard to hear, because honesty is the foundation of real progress.
We build a plan that fits your real life, not a one-size-fits-all process designed around the system's convenience.
We do this with you, not for you, because lasting change comes from veterans owning their own story and next steps.
